People often ask, what exactly does Estes Design and Manufacturing make?

Our elevator pitch to this question is usually, “Whatever you want us to make.” While our capabilities aren’t endless, our suite of services includes traditional metal fabrication, 3D laser welding, product development and prototyping, as well as inventory management and cost reduction services. In addition to this, our facility includes an array of fully-automated machines and a complete line of standard fabricating equipment.

Although we have a wide variety of capabilities, we like to think of ourselves as “Panel Specialists.” We have multiple automated forming work centers that are ideal for shaping light-gauge panels. Our panel benders can achieve high repeatability and tight dimensional tolerances, resulting in a higher quality product. In addition to this, our automated fabrication cell, Estes Max Velocity, provides exceptional quality, shorter lead times, and improved on-time delivery. We run approximately 7,500 panels each week through our Max Velocity cell with available capacity to do much more!

Industries We Serve

Architectural Metal Fabrication

We have partnered with companies on multiple occasions to supply architectural finishing panels, accents, sun shades, and building envelopes for various structures in the greater Indianapolis area.

 

TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park
We supplied 5,016 panels (with 695 unique part numbers!) to line the underside of the TCU Amphitheater canopy at White River State Park.

 

Fishers Fire Station
We also helped design and fabricate over a thousand custom exterior wall panels in the construction of a new fire station in Fishers, Indiana. Read more about the project here!

Estes Medical

Estes Medical Design serves the medical field, and most often orthopedics specifically, through the manufacture of items such as sterilization cases and trays for medical tools used in orthopedic surgeries, components for patient handling equipment, panels and enclosures for diagnostic equipment, pharmaceutical trays, biomedical refrigeration components, and storage cabinetry to name a few.

 

One of our most recent projects has been working with Dr. Babak Hassid (“Dr. Bobby”), a New-York based cardiologist looking to improve the experience of surgeons in the cardiac cath lab. Dr. Bobby noticed that the lead protective vest that must be worn by surgeons during procedures is heavy and taxing, draining energy and making the operation more difficult. What if there was a device that could eliminate the need for a vest without compromising safety? Estes is proud to have played a significant role in the prototyping and development of such an invention.

 

Office Furniture/Cabinetry Metal Fabrication

We’ve designed several models of complete, painted cabinets and workstation assemblies, as well as components for modular office furniture, both for large customers and for use in-house at our Indianapolis facility. We also fabricate and assemble high-end garage cabinets for VAULT who specializes in furnishing custom and personalized garages for the world’s finest homes.

 

Estes Designs Mailbox and Streetscapes

Estes began designing and manufacturing unique, durable aluminum mailboxes in 2003. Since then, Estes Designs Mailbox and Streetscapes has become central Indiana’s largest mailbox unit supplier and installer and works with developers, builders, property management companies, homeowner associations and retail customers to provide elegant and highly functional mailbox units, accessories, and street signage.

Motorsports Trade Show Display
Left in a last-minute pinch, this customer needed a custom project fast. We quickly delivered what they needed and took the stress off!
